Katimbo: Productivity Platform (Kanban + Time-Boxing)
A web app to regain control of time through visual task management and deep-focus blocks.
Description: A web application designed to regain control of time through visual task management and deep concentration blocks.
The Problem: Decision fatigue, constant context switching, and daily interruptions are the greatest enemies of productivity. I realized that managing endless to-do lists generated stress and a false sense of progress. Tasks that should take 30 minutes stretched to an hour due to distractions. I needed a system that forced me to be intentional with my most valuable resource: time.
The Solution: I developed Katimbo combining Kanban with Time-Boxing. The core concept is simple but strict: each task is encapsulated in blocks of 1 or 2 hours maximum. Protected Time locks isolate fixed events (meetings, meals, exercise). The Bucket is a quick inbox for capturing new tasks.
At the end of the week, the system not only shows checked boxes but visually accounts for actual hours invested, generating motivation and retrospective insights.
Tech Stack: Frontend: Vue.js 2 & Vuex | Backend/DB: Firebase (Cloud Firestore)
What I Learned: Building Katimbo was an exercise in intentional architecture β mastering reactive integration between Vuex and Firestore. The biggest lesson: the simplest architecture is often the most elegant and fastest to production.
Status: In production. Katimbo is my daily "command center."
