An energy-saving device that requires battery changes every few months is a logistical failure. The technical and commercial challenge was to keep a persistent BLE connection alive while reducing energy consumption to such extreme levels that the device could operate for years on a single coin cell battery.
Developed in C using TI-RTOS. Aggressive power-cycling strategies, custom BLE advertising intervals, and deep RF stack optimization were implemented so the microprocessor "wakes up" for only microseconds at a time.
